We had a very busy time in September studying reptiles, writing reports, and making dioramas. I'm so very proud of the work done by each and every student. Learning to use Google Classroom (on top of writing a research report) was a HUGE task, and my students did a GREAT job!
We read The Magic Finger, by Roald Dahl, and discussed what it means to consider things from one another's perspectives. We also introduced the concept of ethics, and what it means when we don't agree with one another about what is right or wrong.
We ended September with a great turn out for the Gator Gallop fund run. We dressed up as SUPER HEROES and had fun running the Gator Loop. We hope you enjoy our pictures! Our class really worked hard to raise the extra money it takes to continue providing the wonderful "extras" they enjoy at Manchester G.A.T.E.
As we launch into October, our study turns to our skeletal system. Each child will learn the names of most of the 206 bones in our body, as well as their functions and how to keep them healthy. We will also be studying bats, and learn about their fascinating features.
